Is Plyo and Yoga absolutely necessary?

Ok, I just just started P90X this Tuesday. And I loved the Chest & Back and Shoulders & Arms workouts. For the Plyo I subbed in Stretch X, and I tried to do Yoga X. I'm not a flexable guy, and I suck at this. I quit after 30 minutes or so. Can I just do Stretch X until I'm flexible enough to do the Yoga or should I slog throughnthe Yoga X doing as much as I can?
