Good morning Xers.
It's time to give P90X another try. About a year ago, I started X after having the DVDs sit on my shelf for a couple years. It was great. I felt great. I followed the portion plan and used myfitnesspal to track all of my food. The changes in my body were noticeable almost immediately (I'm a small guy ~150 lbs. 5'9"). I made it a month and a half into the program, then a disaster hit. A fucking life changer.
My mom died.
At that point, I had lost all motivation. It didn't help that I had my sister staying with me for a couple weeks at that point to help me take care of everything. I don't even think she knows what a vegetable is anymore. All my offers of cooking healthy meals were rebuffed. We ate out at every meal.
Well, fast forward to today. I was sitting at work this past Monday (April 1) and kind of out of the blue, I said fuck it. Time to do this again. So I started that same day. Since I haven't lifted anything heavier than a 32 oz. of High Life in the past year, I'm calling this week "Warm up week". Knowing the kind of pain (that oh-so-good pain) I'd be in by Wednesday, I started easy to hopefully mitigate some of that. I did half of the chest and back (no abs) disc on Monday. Half of Plyo on Tuesday. Wednesday I did all of arms & shoulders, and ab ripper. Yesterday I did all of Tony's One on One Yoga. I will be doing all of legs & back and ARX today. Let me say, I already feel good. Fucking great! I missed this.
This coming Monday (April 8), is what I'm considering my real start date and that's when I'll start counting down my 90 days. I will continue to do things like I did last time, as I was very happy with the results I was seeing.
Food will be portion plan and tracked with myfitnesspal. Supplements will be: ACG3 pre workout, Dark Matter post workout, Body Fortress Protein Powder, Clif Builder Bars, Creatine Monohydrate, Vitamins, and Omega 3's and 6's from fish oil pills and/or ground flax seed. I've got my kitchen scale out and stocked up the kitchen on Tuesday. I'm ready. Let's do this.
tl;dr About a year ago, I did P90X for a month and a half. Mom died, lost all motivation. Started easy again on Monday, will go full bore and start counting my 90 come next Monday (April 8).
