Well… after many years of trying, I finally achieved my goal weight. Today I got on the scale and it read 159 lbs. That puts me squarely in the “Normal” category for my BMI. I’ve lost a total of 22 lbs on an ozempic like compound I get through my local med spa. Yes, it costs a shit ton of money for those weekly shots. Thank goodness I can afford it. It’s been worth every penny. On this particular journey, it Took about 15 weeks to lose the pounds.
159 lbs was a significant weight loss goal for me because it is the lowest I’ve ever weighed as an adult. It’s also 101 lbs down from my highest weight ever of 260 lbs. That was what I weighed 16 yrs ago. On the cusp of turning 30 yea old, I waged war on my fat. My grandmother had just passed away from diabetes. My grandfather died of it as well. My mother was chronically sick with the disease and had already lost kidney function. She died from diabetes roughly 10 yrs later. My grandmother on my dad’s side also passed away from it. I vowed that I would not go that route.
I’ve been at this a long time, have had many weight loss journeys, ups and downs. I just never gave up on myself. Ozempic-like drug was not my full story, but I’m glad it’s part of it. Please don’t give up guys. My new goal is around 145 lbs. I haven’t weighed that since I was 14 yrs old. I’m already happy with my body, but here’s shooting for the stars!
