This is a method I implimented after realizing the difference between myself and diamond players when I was hard stuck in Platinum after 7 seasons. Now I'm sitting comfortably in mid diamond.
Below diamond, people play very reactionary. This means they rely almost exclusively on reacting to the enemies moves. This is why you see Lucio die when dropping the beat, Reinhardt's getting slammed by an enemy reinhardt stuck in a grav, dps dying to "fucking bullshit".
Once you hit diamond, people start noticing they are unable to react to everything and need to do something before hand. This is how I developed the APPE method.
Anticipate: Before a fight or game starts, you need to anticipate the enemies moves and your goals (I plan on making a post on the goals section later, let's focus on APPE right now.) When in gold, you die to a genji while having trance, because you didn't see him til he blades you failed the first point. Take a look at the enemy team and ANTICIPATE what they are going to do, sometimes it's easy. You have 1 minute left on a point and genji hasn't bladed, guess who's gonna blade.
Predict: Now that you have anticipated the blade happening, you need to predict who he will go after, where he will come from and how he will show up. If you're on Kings row defence point A, and you're playing support, predict he's going after you. He's going to either go down middle and dash over your tanks, or top left and down on you from behind. So you as Baptiste should stand behind the phone booth. This means if he blades from front you can jump up to the high ground. If he drops from behind you can jump up to the high ground after he blades forcing him to choose you or the team.
Prepare: All you need to do is stand behind the mailbox and wait for the blade!
Execute: This is the step all players use, and the LEAST impactful step. Now that you know the options, all you need to do is crouch jump as Baptiste. No needing to worry where the enemy will come from, you don't need to react super fast. You know it's coming, so you just jump. You won't have to panic lamp, or freak out because everyone is grouped up.
Good luck all in your climbs!
Edit: forgot prepare
