How to improve at DPS, without being a constant cause of misery for my team?

Post Body

Hi guys. I used to be a fairly competent DPS player, but I started playing role queue comp exclusively for support to improve my rank. This lead to me never playing DPS when I played Overwatch and only playing support for a very long time.

I've noticed now that I have become a dismal DPS player due to lack of playing DPS. I just don't have the edge I used to. I know I need to practice to get my edge back so I've been trying to practice in quickplay, but I get insulted a lot for playing so poorly. I understand why they're upset though and I do genuinely feel guilty whenever I have a bad game.

I'm wondering if there is a way for me to practice DPS without being a constant liability and cause of misery for other players? Do you guys know any good custom games or arcade games that are good practice? I'm pretty terrible at DPS right now and die so quickly to enemy DPS, it's very frustrating and I really want to improve.
