**Opening the Discussion for Plat and Above Players**
I don't mean to be pretentious however I believe Plat is around the rank where you start honing your aiming skills. If you're below Plat, feel free to share if you've noticed any benefits from adjusting settings since the major Hitbox and HP patch.
However, I'm particularly interested in hearing from experienced DPS players at GM or high Masters levels. In these higher ranks, mechanical skill plays a significant role in shaping the meta. For example, a GM Widowmaker plays vastly differently compared to a Plat Widowmaker due to the disparity in mechanical skill.
While it's often said that your settings are preferences vary in FPS games, about 80% of it boils down to personal choice, from sensitivity settings to crosshair preferences, and even how you position yourself at your desk.
However, in games like CS and pro Overwatch League (OWL) & Valorant the remaining 20% shows that settings do matter. This topic has been discussed extensively in the CS community, from ex-pro players on streams to shout casters and analysts dissecting meta changes from CSGO to CS2.
OW2 to me since the changes is a different animal now since the hitbox and movement a long with players baiting out their time in corners to regen when not near a support... this is why Tracer and Sombra have become even stronger than ever even though Flats believes this isn't a Dive Meta... for the rest of the roles.
Personally, I'm at Diamond 2 and started Overwatch in Season 3. I climbed from Gold to Plat in 2-3 seasons and found the Hitbox changes in OW2 greatly beneficial. Aim is my strong suit in this game, as my game sense is average, and I struggle with tracking cooldowns and making defensive rotations. However, on offense, I excel. I now struggle to out aim the really cracked DPS players that are higher elo than myself with these new changes like I use to be able to hold my own on Cas vs a Master/GM Cas but now I get absolutely diffed in a 1v1. These changes in my opinion have made the games aim ceiling even higher as landing a headshot on a Soj or Widow is like CSGO with the awp those shots just land where you place them now and yes its "more casual" in a way for lower elo players as they can actually hit the kiriko strafing A D 1v1 on them.
In CS2, the current meta favors the T side (attack) due to aggressive wide swings. I've spent countless hours watching CSGO and CS2 streams/tournaments, particularly focusing on DPS players like Warn, Wanted, Dafran, Kragie, Necros, and Shadder2k on Twitch. Additionally, my regular Discord group consists of players around my rank in CS2 and OW2, some of whom reached GM/Masters in OW1.
I've noticed that many skilled CS players tend to mimic the settings of pro players from top teams. In CSGO, this often involved sitting close to the screen, with the arm mostly on the table, using lower sensitivity, and maintaining an upright posture. However, with the release of CS2, there's been a shift towards higher sensitivity and larger crosshairs, even in the pro scene. This change is attributed to the gameplay alterations in CS2, where wider swings are more favorable, and precision is less crucial compared to CSGO's emphasis on tight angles.

**Discussion on Overwatch 2: Hitbox and HP Changes and Their Impact on Aiming**
In my group, comprising players ranging from Plat to Diamond 2, with a couple of Masters on tank roles, we've had extensive debates about the effects of the Hitbox and HP changes in Overwatch 2 on aiming techniques. Before the big hitbox overhaul, higher sensitivities and bigger crosshairs seemed more advantageous. This was particularly true because you needed to swiftly adjust your aim to hit smaller targets' hitboxes and capitalize on the lower HP pools.
However, with the update, there seems to be a shift. Larger crosshairs are still preferred but many other pro OWL players seem to be dropping their sensitivities lower and using small crosshairs,
I use OW2 streamers in that example, like Dafran, Jay3, Wanted, Necros, Shadder2k, Warn, Aimbot Calvin, Awkward, and Kragie, some of them have adjusted their settings accordingly lowering their sense and making it like a dot. While their sensitivities vary, the common thread is the move towards lower values.
I believe this is the meta now as this game values landing your follow up shots on hit scans especially for headshots since when I use to Dink someone with Ashe and spamm them down on hip fire m1 they can now either evade or that extra HP gives them a fighting chance to avoid the follow up.
Now hitboxes are bigger aiming down congested cooridors like first point on Rialto seem to provide less value in hitting a headshot and headshot a second time as theres so many people flying around in that space the follow up shot is taxed by the tank moving around A D'n.
Some might say high sens is still the most beneficial especially for dealing with tracers on the flank as Cassidy but we all argue that tracers hitbox is so much easier to headshot now if she gets too close to your face that that using a dot on lower sense is more consistent to headshot body shot as you need to make less adjustment in your FOV to her blinking left and right.
--- TLDR
**Overwatch 2: Aiming in the Current Meta**
In the current meta, my observations, along with those of my friends and streams I've watched, indicate that Overwatch 2 since the HP/Hitbox update now values a lower sensitivity on hit scans and smaller-sized crosshairs for landing your headshots choke points were the enemy team is grouped up.
This seems to be a departure from the previous preference for higher sensitivity and larger crosshairs.
The game at higher elo is more demanding for good aim than ever as making sure the follow up shots are placed with much more precision to avoid hitting full HP targets and the enemy being close enough to run to cover to self regen.
