5v5 certainly changes the dynamic of the game.
If I’m being honest, I think the reason I miss 6v6 is for nostalgia. It wasn’t what I expected to change in OW2.
I had some memories with fellow tank playing friends whom I would duo or team up with.
I still sort of do that because I also play Support but I used to play a lot of tank. It was a different dynamic when you had a tank friend.
I had a friend who played rein and Winston. I played a quite a few tanks but for his sake I’d go zarya. He didn’t need me to do that to pop off but I enabled his aggressiveness.
He jumped in, I’d bubble him and he’d go to town. He’d charge, I’d bubble.
Of course something like that can still happen with your dps. I think it’s because of the close range that tanks have to play in that made it feel back to back with a comrade.
It won’t be like that again. Perhaps it’s for the better balance wise. It slowed the game down. I feel contrary to the majority. Hell, I actually liked 2cp. So I miss that now too in a serious game mode.
Working with your fellow support in OW2 feels like you’re either in it together against the world trying to survive or you feel like co workers who don’t really talk. You work in the same position in the same department and the closest thing to you two can come to for common ground is liking breakfast at Tiffany’s.
