I wanted to make this post in hopes in to partially get back into the Overwatch loop again but also address my concerns about OW2.

I played Overwatch on PS4. I have a hard time recalling when I stopped playing. I know I had 1000 hours in total and was a big Support/Tank player who had fun playing some dps heroes occasionally.

I’ve since switched to PC. Haven’t played OW on PC. I knew it’s a different beast and honestly I don’t feel confident in my ability with a keyboard and mouse despite having played many games since.

So what’s my worry? Why make this post?

Well, I’ve been passively keeping tabs OW2. I remember when they first released some info and some skills and footage and what not.

But as much as they seem to want to incorporate PVE the replay value really comes from PVP. That being said, even though it’s been shown you can change things about the heroes I doubt it’s gonna leak over into the ever so delicate balancing act that is the PVP.

Meaning, I just worry it’s just gonna be a lot of the same. I say that as in, yeah I’m excited for another OW. I miss playing it even now. But I just worry for other people who will get bored of the same Ults. Same abilities. They never really added many new game modes into the competitive scene which was something I really feel would’ve added more depth. I didn’t just want more fun game modes but serious ones that could be added into competitive. Different game modes that have other heroes a unique part to play with the abilities they were given.

Capture the flag, iirc, never quite got to be added into the competitive pool. New game modes meant different maps and ways to use the heroes.

The heroes are coming back and not a lot has changed.

OW blessed me with some lovely friends that I still talk to. And I wanna get into a group again and just worry things will flare up and die quickly.

I wanna see the pvp be a little less predictable in regards to abilities.

Idk what the plans are tbh. Like I said I’ve been very passive and I keep seeing more and more info and it’s garnered my attention.

I still very much intend to pick it up when it comes out.
