My mission would be to generate excitement and hype in the OW community, which I feel could use a good amount of improvement. Some things I would organize, if I could....
Monthly amateur Cosplay competition:
The winner gets a high end OW swag. Maybe one of those statues? Also, feature them on the Battlenet OW launcher and shoutout on OW twitter and shared on OW subreddit.
Monthly OW Art competition:
Similar to the cosplay competition. Maybe more regular swag instead? But still highlighted.
Bi-weekly or monthly streams (sometimes with a dev):
Some people just want a chill stream with someone on the team. Sometimes, I would duo-stack with a dev to talk about the development process. Not getting into OW2 specific changes, but just their general design philosophy. Or maybe duo-stack with a streamer, OWL player, or just a regular person that likes playing OW. We can alternate between PC and console to stream.
Polls:
Across all mediums about various topics and issues (Twitter, Reddit, the forums, etc.). It might help the devs for info too.
Annual art competition for Hero Skins:
Maybe the community tries their hand in designing a skin design for a hero. We create a poll for the community's favorite, and the winning skin actually gets made for the Anniversary event.
Interviews:
A bit different from the streams, which would be more relaxed. But interviews with all parts of the OW team, including the gameplay devs, voice actors, music directors/composers, sound design devs, backend matchmaking/role queue devs, etc.
Monthly OW Play of the month (or week):
One Play of the Game or Highlight chosen from the community and gets highlighted by twitter, reddit, Youtube, etc.
Monthly Workshop competition:
A workshop mode created by the community is chosen and featured in the Arcade.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
All of these individually may not sound much, but when put together, should foster more engagement and excitement, which I should be improved, I think. Especially in this time because OW2 picks up steam (not to mention such things aren't hard to do and doesn't cost the devs much).
EDIT: Idk why I'm being down voted, but ok. 😅
