How are you supposed to get past a silver in comp with random???

I dont get it. I dont need a "get good" response but I'd like to stay im an above average and can play at the higher ranks as a healer but I cannot even make it past silver. I have teams where no one communicates, people throw games, people go in solo, use their ults wrong, etc. Everything in the book. I play my part but it's so hard when one bad player can make it or break it for your game. Is it even possible to rank up in randoms or do you need a solid group of people?? I've never been so frustrated in my life with this game.
