Mercy Solo Queue From Bronze?

Hi There,
I'm struggling to climb as Mercy from Bronze in Solo Queue. I was wondering if anyone has had any success as a Mercy player in low ranks?
It just seems that my group splits up or pushes too far and I can't do much to help them. I'm thinking Moira may be a viable as I can do a bit more damage and healing.
