Yes, Iām an actual Brig main. I will adapt to her new playstayle. I donāt mind that sheās more of a main healer and less brawly. However, the crux of her issue is about her new paper-thin shield.
I look at it from both a balance standpoint and a āfunā perspective as someone that actually mains Brigitte (which, by the statistics, is a hero not many people main).
On one hand, she heals more than before (even though on live, I heal about 8K per 10 so I didnāt have that issue) and her Whip Shot is much more rewarding. Her increase healing output helps compensate for the lack of sustain and tankiness. Balance-wise, it feels like the right direction to take with 2-2-2 coming up.
However, the fact that her shield doesnāt have a discernible function (outside of using it to shield bash) is an issue for me. She canāt use it to protect herself, to protect her healers, to help her front line, etc. Her lack of self-sustain is NOT fun. I feel like its harder to get into close to do the things Brigitte can (and should) do. No, the Whip Shot buff isnāt nearly enough to compensate. On live, she lack of range and lack of escapes as a support was overcome by her sustain. But the PTR Brig doesn't have range, escapes, or sustain.
Although Iām a Brigitte main, I donāt want her OP. All Iām asking is for her shield to be brought up to 400, so its something that canāt tank on the frontline, but can be used to close the gap to prog her healing or protect her teammate, and I donāt think that would make her overpowered.
I just wish that Blizzard would just acknowledge that and listen to ACTUAL Brigitte mains. My hours for the hero are in the triple digits in competitive and Iāll still play her and adapt, but it feels like Blizzard isnāt listening to me at all.
