Bio: Once a technology magnate before retiring at age 40, Whitlock Barlow began immersing himself in literature to pass his free time. The adventures in his books began to consume most of his waking moments, and Whitlock knew he couldn't be content to merely read of adventure for long. Finally, knowing he couldn't continue to just read of adventure, Whitlock - using electromagnetic technology - devised a way to pursue his adventures outside of his library.
Passive: Magnetic Dissonance: As Whitlock's health lowers, his damage increases ( 1 damage each shard per 25 HP lost)
Primary fire: Gauntlet Shards - Whitlock fires several shards of metal at a high velocity towards enemies (3 layers of small metal shards [10 shards per layer] hover around the gauntlet, fires 5 shards at time) (12 meter effective range) 15 damage per shard. RoF: 1 shot every .8 seconds Reload time: 1.3 seconds Fires in a square pattern, middle shot always shoots perfectly straight
Secondary fire: Biotic Wave - Using magnetically controlled nanobots, (controlled by extending his cane) Whitlock fires a line of healing (3 meters wide) that travels forwards and back 12 meters and at 12 meters per second, healing allies touched for 50HP. (Allies can be healed by both passes of the ability) 4 second cooldown begins after two second use (actual cast time is .7 seconds) (by walking forward after casting the ability, Whitlock can heal himself with the second pass)
Ability 1: Magnetic Lock - Whitlock targets an enemy and holds them in position for two seconds, during this time he cannot use any other abilities or fire his weapon. (He can move about freely, however) 9 second cooldown begins after two second use
Ability 2: Maglev - Whitlock deploys a small dish, which creates a low gravity field allowing his team to jump at greatly increased heights (12 second cooldown) (field is active for 3 seconds)
Ultimate: Polarity Swap - A 12 meter wide pulse of energy that turns all incoming enemy fire into allied fire (except melee attacks) for any attack which passes through the energy field or for any enemy it touches for 2 seconds (20 meter max range, moves at 10 meters per second)
Imagine a cross between Tony Stark and Magneto, always impeccably dressed (even having a cane!) and possessing a quick wit but with power over magnets and an English accent
