Logged into MWO a few minutes ago, there was a big new TOS I had to click through.
Here's PGI's official explanation: https://mwomercs.com/news/2020/02/2387-terms-service-update
I'm not a lawyer and probably wouldn't have taken the time to read the new TOS even if I was. I will say that it felt like a bit of a rude surprise. But given PGI's track record, I don't know why I'm surprised. An unsettling surprise like this is classic PGI behavior.
I hope this is harmless and just something to help out MW5 modders use MWO assets as Matt claims in the official news page. But I'm reserving judgement. I seem to remember about six months ago when Russ said that a big update to a website was no big deal, and nobody should panic. And that was the whole Epic Games Store thing.
Hopefully this posting will act as some kind of communication with the community on this issue. Something that PGI should have done themselves, in advance of rolling out the new TOS. But, you know, this is PGI so... accurate and timely communication with the community not really their strong suit, right?
