Lolth having captured the 8 demon lords present in the book (all in the Abyss of course) and becoming the new 'prince of demons' or all demons maintaining control over their respective realms?
I had an alternative ending for the book where Obox Ob returns and, using Vizeran's ritual as an opportunity, usurps Demogorgon while he is reforming in the Abyss. The party must travel to the Abyss and kill Obox Ob once and for all, his form having been weakened thanks to the ritual but not as much as the ta'anari demon lords.
A mysterious female drow will be assisting them, later revealed to be Lolth, Queen of Spiders. Upon Obox Ob's death, she takes the title of Queen of Demons, thanking the characters for their assistance mockingly before casting them out. The implication is that she is now ruling a bunch of new Abyss layers, essentially making her plan a success. This would expand her power in the Abyss, but would it have any implications for Faerun?
Is it more disastrous for Lolth to be ruling the Abyss, Obox Ob to be ruling the abyss or for the status quo to be maintained with Demogorgon ruling?
