Does anyone else get slightly off put by how the show portrays the OBX vs how it is in real life?

I totally understand that itβs a TV show and settings are always hyped up to look perfect, but the OBX in person is NOT the tropical paradise the show portrays it as. They could still make the setting look very nice and lush, but more accurate, right? Kildare looks more like it fits in the Lowcountry than the OBX. Plus it would tie better in with going to Charleston and the Caribbean
