Post Body

I’m looking for a series that has complex characteristics that truly makes its world feel new. Rather than investing into a character’s relationship between another character’s for the sake of romance, I’m trying to find a series that puts the same effort into the world created and balances characters so that each one has their own reasonable motives of their actions to the point that the story can easily switch to their perspective alone.

Nowadays I’m finding faults in regular series because the main characters react like they are in a romance series instead of the actual circumstances they are placed in. Though, romance is what most otomeisekais focuses on 🥲

For example, an FL is imprisoned in poor conditions yet thinks that the ML is hot instead of confusion/fear when he approaches her for the first time. More specifically, I would look for an FL that takes in her surroundings to a real degree instead of having so much confidence because of her prior knowledge of her life or because of a second chance at living (like reincarnation/time travel).

Some examples that I’ve loved are Ascendance of a Bookworm (exorbitant worldbuilding/foreshadowing), the Villainess Lives Twice (clever plotting/time continuation), Your Throne (brilliant character development/manipulation), and Like Wind on a Dry Branch (unique English word play and euphemisms/backstories)!

Thanks so much!
