It’s 3 am and I’m having a lot of feelings right now, so I’ve decided to rant about something I view as a huge injustice.

Usually our heroines in our stories are commoners or beggars, living pretty bad lives under the heels of the nobility. Now imagine that somebody set up a perfect opportunity for you to live a good life, and all you had to do was make the crown prince fall in love with you by being in certain places and saying certain phrases. OF COURSE you’re going to take that opportunity, no matter what! But now, your perfect life is ruined because the villainess has seduced them first. Keep in mind that the villainesses in our stories usually are rich nobles, one or two steps below the imperial family. They had no need to seduce any princes because they were guaranteed a good life anyway. Of course, this is not to blame our FL - she usually has no intention of doing this. But the OG heroine has no way of knowing this. Are you really surprised that the OG heroine is going to be bitchy, scheming, and mean to somebody who just stole their one lifeline to living a good life?

I don’t see why these heroines are characterized as bad people for wanting back the things that were STOLEN from them. Of course they’re going to lie and cheat to get back the chance of living a good life! Of course they’re going to seduce a prince if it means that they can live in comfort! I’m not ashamed to say that I would do the same. And you know what? They deserve to do it, because all of the benefits that FL is now reaping was meant for the heroine in the first place. I am a solid sympathizer for these wronged OG heroines, because in the end, all they wanted was something that they were supposed to have in the first place.
