Just got done reading Betrayal of Dignity. And i hate this trope so much. No more manipulative or abusive MLs its so trash 😪
I just want recommendations where the ML isnt actively manipulating or abusing the FL. I dont mean misunderstandings, i mean legitimate abuse and manipulation.
To those who want context, Spoilers for Betrayal of Diginity Below:
>! ML sees a crippled noblewoman in a field, breaks her cane and makes her walk back on her bad leg alone, all while thinking about marrying her sister to take over a secret gold mine. He then manipulates, frames her for murder, which almost leads to her death, and then heroically saves her to make her fall in love with him, and then gets her pregnant. The entire first 50 chapters he literally physically and emotionally abuses her, there's no redemption in my eyes. !<
This trope is so common also, and its usually hidden in a "but he loves her" fashion. But no, its literally just physical and mental abuse 😬
