I was watching a YouTube video on Royal couples and thought Eleanor of Castile and Edward were like a real-life OI couple.

She was originally engaged to someone else, but it was settled that she would marry the fair and handsome warrior, Edward. Their marriage was marred by the horror of the bedding ceremony, and though they didn't speak each other's languages, through French they discovered they were very similar. They spent the early years of their marriage reading together and playing chess. When they went back to England, some of her family members followed along to try to get money from her Father-in-law (every good OI has to have family drama amirite?) which caused uproar among the English. She held Windsor castle when her husband was imprisoned during an uprising, and nearly summoned troops from Castile before Edward escaped and joined the fray. She went on Crusade with her husband where Edward was almost poisoned in an assassination attempt, but as legend tells it she sucked the poison out of his arm (pictured). There were also tons of stories about how deeply they loved each other. He was totally faithful to her and fathered no illegitimate children (unheard of). One funny anecdote is that on the first Monday after Lent he would always pretend to allow Eleanor's ladies to "capture him" and paid them a ransom so he could bed his wife as soon as he was allowed.

While I wouldn't want an OI based on their actual life, I can definitely picture an OI couple based on their relationship. Eleanor seemed feisty and intelligent, and Edward by all accounts was a badass on the battlefield with a bit of a tyrant-streak as a leader, but totally lovestruck in the bedroom.
