I was Chrismated Into the orthodox church a few days ago and for one of my gifts that I received from my godmother was a handwritten icon. She made of Saint Nicholas the wonderworker. It's hand written with egg tempera, and it does not have the clear coating that goes over it. I was wondering if anyone here knows what the perfect clear coating is safe to use on egg tempera paint for icons.
