I think we have seven core players and I would rank them as:
- Paolo Banchero
- Franz Wagner
- Jalen Suggs
- Mo Wagner
- Wendell Carter
- Jonathan Isaac
- Cole Anthony
Paolo is a budding superstar and looks to be trending to one day being the best player overall in the NBA. And Franz continues to be an important part of our success. If he can raise his 3 point % he could potentially be a multiple time All Star.
Suggs has raised his game maybe more than anyone. His offense is now something other teams have to plan for. And he is maybe the best defensive guard in the game. Should be first team all defensive and be in contention for most improved player.
Mo Wagner has arguably been our fourth most valuable player this season. He’s one of the more underrated players in the NBA. I put him above Wendell due to his availability and dominance on offense this year. One of the highest true shooting big men in the sport and his footwork defensively is elite, consistently drawing charges.
Isaac should be higher but if he continues to increase his minutes that may come by playoffs or next year. He is arguably the best overall defender in the league and can cover literally anyone.
Cole’s outside shot has not been nearly as reliable. But he excels in many areas, including playmaking and his rebounding for a guard is impressive. He can create many shots in the paint and has the energy and attitude needed in a winning locker room.
What do you think?
