looking for a CO2 reagent that is stable once it reacted

Hi there, I would like to do an experiment, where draw with a reagent on paper, and that only would react when I smoke some cigar on it.
The reagent should not react before I smoke on it, and be stable afterwards.
I thought about a co2 reagent, but since there is already a lot of co2, i think it would react too fast.
Any idea to make it happen?
