First and foremost

We have absolutely nothing against single/solo men or those who are looking for them, in fact, we created r/OregonMenGoneWild for these very reasons. Guys, use r/OregonMenGoneWild to advertise. Couples, use this to search for those guys and advertise yourselves there. The three other mods work just as hard there to keep it spam-free as they do here.

To those who are not looking for single/solo guys,

We get it. We too have been on the receiving end of non-stop DM's, messages, dick pics, "hmu" comments, and even those infamous replies by the forever-holding-their-own guys. We can only do so much but we will do what we can.

In the meantime, here are some things you can do:

• Turn off DMs. My wife, u/super_secret_name, did this and she rarely gets harassed in her messages. In posts we can remove and even ban users if their comments rise to that level but there is nothing we can do for DMs. Couples who are seriously interested in you will either comment in your post or find a way to send you a message.

• Get verified and join r/Oregon_Swingers. It's not the place to go to get upvotes, it's not the place to go to be seen by randoms, but there are not any single/solo guys there. There has been requests to create a list of good and bad single/solo men there and if we can find a way to facilitate a positive area for this, we will do our best to try.

• Block them. Easiest solution.

• Report them. We remove every comment you report and send a reminder to that person to respect the post flair and title tags - look at our histories, we do this a lot. If they continue to do this, we ban them.

• This is controversial but it comes up enough that it does warrant some conversation, and that is: encourage the MF4M posters to use r/OregonMenGoneWild instead of this sub.

"They just create new accounts"

It's true that a lot of the single/solo guys we see that break the rules here just create new accounts. However, Reddit is finally addressing this and as we've seen a few times now, Reddit has a way of tracking them and holding their comment for review and even shadowbanning their DMs. Supposedly this is only going to get better, too. We do not approve the comments that get held. Maybe they learned their lesson, but from what we've seen behind the scenes, they didn't. It doesn't stop them from seeing you but it does stop them from harassing you, mostly. So, reporting and blocking them does have an impact and it's only going to get better.

If you've read this far, congrats, you're the 1-in-1000. This is my personal opinion, but I believe the other mods would agree, I think if the other 999-in-1000 weren't so terrible, it wouldn't be so difficult for you to join a couple. As-is, those 999 are really bad, really really bad. So, do what you can to help us weed them out and I think you'll see that you aren't as hated as what is portrayed. And use r/OregonMenGoneWild to help you find what you are looking or for those to find you! Good luck.
