Sharing because we've had some rather, uh, 'interesting' messages lately about just how much spam we actually get. We're always trying to be transparent with you all and hopefully you see that but in case you don't, here's another look.
A few notes:
- First, this is just posts, not comments. Comments are easily 10-20x this amount but Reddit doesn't keep track of those.
- Second, our automoderator tools used to catch 90% of these. Those tools are largely gone now since u/spez decided to ban them. This is why we closed down and now upon reopening are relying on you all to report spam if you see it. And THANK YOU to those of you who are. We see that you are helping.
- Third, take a look at June. Even when we locked it down, see how the spam jumped? I wonder why that was. We have no idea, just interesting.
