First, thank you for your patience as we start into a whole new Reddit.

There's a lot to unpack here so I'll keep this short and ask whatever questions you have for us in a few days (this thread is locked for now so we don't confuse some with "restricted" status but we will post a AMA/AUA in the coming days.)

The many changes by Reddit that have been made, those to come, and the fallout from it all, will take a long time to assess and adapt to, if we can. Here's where we are now and what you can expect

"But this sub says that it's Restricted???"

We will move this to text-only posts in a few days. We're going to keep this up so it doesn't get ignored or buried with other posts for now.

"Text-only posts?"

We hate to do this but the reality is that come July 1st, there's going to be a whole new wave of spam and with Reddit removing most of the tools we use to fight spam, we simply can't fathom this sub ever being able to deliver to you a subreddit that you deserve. Even if we added more mods the fight is a losing one and we see it only getting worse with all the changes incoming by Reddit's CEO u/spez.

Please understand that these decisions were not taken lightly. We thought about them and discussed them all among our team and other mods, ad nauseam. Text-only is the only viable way to move forward - at least for now. By removing pictures/videos, this, in essence, removes 99% of the spam we see and 90% of the complaints and reports we get (dick pics).

"I just want to post/look at nudes!"

Don't fret, if you come here just to post your sexy pics or to look at sexy pics, you still have options.

1. In the Private sub, we will still allow NSFW in there; 

2. Your own 'page'; 

3. Other subreddits (filled with spam, may not last, but they are still available, for now). 

Our suggestion: get verified and join the private sub. If not, put pics up on your profile and then come here to find partners.

Read all about it HERE. (Fair warning, if you just send us a request, WITHOUT verification pictures that are clearly defined in that post, we're just going to ignore you.) Click the "HERE" above, read in that linked post where it says, How do we/I get verified. READ, follow those directions, get accepted, read the stickied post there, subscribe/join the subreddit (Reddit still doesn't default to this, how dumb!). Easy.

Because this is locked down from the public, spam and dick pics are essentially non-existent (could happen but then a verified couple would have to have turned on us all and be ready to be removed from the group, which is highly unlikely). And because of this, moderation is minimal. And no, it's not that we are lazy, but there's a point where being a volunteer becomes a chore, Reddit's changes are making this fight against spam a chore...

"Will this sub ever be full of NSFW pictures again?"

Maybe, but we doubt it. Reddit's CEO, u/spez, seems very content on doing whatever he can to prepare Reddit for their rumored IPO. They're killing third party apps, allowing spam to take off even more, and they're hinting that NSFW communities are next on their target lists.

What about the other Oregon subs you mod?"

r/OregonMenGoneWild and r/OregonGoneWild are effectively dead. See all the aformentioned reasons with NSFW pictures/gif/videos. Reddit is also going to stop allowing posts from any third party app/site. So no more Imgur, redgifs, etc...

r/CollinsBeach and r/RoosterRock - they will remain up as they are until they become problems. If/when they become problems, we'll assess and try to adapt as we can.

Lastly

If you have any questions or comments or concerns, please save them up and we'll open a new AMA (AUA?) in a few days. We've always been as transparent as we can with everyone here and we plan to continue that. If you have ideas, we're always open to them as well.
