Medicated treatment advice
Post Body

Hi, so I’m actually 14 days clean from IV heroin. This is my 4th time in 5 years sobering up from some sort of opiate. I have gone to treatment, worked the steps and have gone through many detox programs. However, like I’m sure everyone knows, it’s incredibly fuckin hard not to fall back into everything.

This time around I’ve been working close with family and different programs in my area. They offer medicated treatment programs in my area (methadone/subutex) and my family really wants me to give it a try.

What were the honest experiences y’all have had with either medication? Should I stay away from one or the other? Should I abstain completely, even though things haven’t worked out in the past? If I should go with one, what should I know first?
