Hi
I am an M4 with slight buyer remorse for Ophtho after finishing an ENT rotation. I think I'm interested in facial and reconstructive plastics but the AAFPRS fellowship is only for ENT and plastic residents. I'm looking at plastics as a segue into this area of medicine because im obviously not trying to reapply. I know that there are 1-year fellowships non-accredited and ASOPRS that is accredited, but each of the ASOPRS programs seems to have a different amount of procedure exposure. For example Sinai Baltimore vs Stanford, one seems to be focused on orbit and plastics vs more skull base approaches with nsgy/ENT and coverage of sinus surgery and rhinoplasty. My question is why is there such variability in these programs and do I need to do my research on each one since they all seem to have different exposure, leaving me the possibility of not being trained well in the areas of my specific interest?
