Anxious attachment as a woman
My wife and I have been married for almost 25 years and open for about 3 years now. In that time she’s had a number of solo connections, and we have a few couples that we’ve met with a handful of times. I realize that this is a small data set, but it seems that, in most of the couples we’ve met, either the husband and wife both have a secure attachment style, or the wife has a secure attachment style, and the husband has an anxious attachment style. In our relationship, I am the one with a secure attachment, and my wife struggles with an anxious attachment style. That means I have no problem with my wife connecting with other guys, sexually or emotionally, and I have no problem connecting with other women. My wife, however, struggles with me (or, frankly, any of her regulars) connecting with other people, and her anxiety kicks in and she feels like they (we) are going to end their connection. She is seeing an ENM friendly therapist. But, I’m wondering if there are any other women that struggle with an anxious attachment style, and how you manage it in the lifestyle.
