My FWB and I agreed to take it slow until all testing was done, so we’ve stuck to hook ups with hand stuff (handjobs, fingering) for about a month.
My test results all came back negative - I did NOT get HSV testing done.
His test results all came back negative EXCEPT for HSV2. He has no symptoms and says he never has.
We now know that HSV testing can be unreliable and is not recommended for asymptomatic people. So my questions are…
(1) Should my primary partner and I eventually get HSV testing done due to exposure?
(2) Is hand-based activity (fingering, hand jobs) risky for male to female transmission? We weren’t using any protection during hand stuff.
(3) I know HSV2 can be transmitted even from asymptomatic people. I am having a really hard time figuring out what exactly the risk for me is. Like if I continue with my FWB longterm*, am I essentially saying “I will eventually get HSV2”?
*Note that we will use protection for oral and PIV.
Any advice / helpful research is appreciated!!
