I was at a small mineral shop in a small town and my gf said “why don’t you ask if they have any opals?” I was like “they probably won’t but I’ll ask.” I asked the cashier and sure enough, he pulled a small box out from behind the counter and had maybe 6 white Australian opals for $30 each. I bought the one I liked best. He said he did have one black one, but the customer bought it and pretty much ran out of the store. Lol
