Moon+ Reader duplicating books when used as default app in Library view. What do?

I have a Boox Nova 2 and use Moon Reader Pro as my primary app, since Neo Reader leaves a bit to be desired. However, the Library interface on the Nova 2 is good, so I set Moon Reader as the default app and launch from there. Every time I open a book from the library, it's duplicated from my /books folder to /books/MoonReader/attachments folder.

Is there any way to stop this from happening? It's junking up my library list with the duplicate (and coverless) entries and taking up unnecessary space.

Moon Reader's own library selection is already pointed to /books so there doesn't seem like there would be any need for this behavior. Everything points to the main sdcard/books folder for my book library.
