Hey, I’m not sure if this is the place for this, but I figure I would ask anyways. I personally want to leave Canada and work in live in the US for various reasons which I won’t rant about, but my dilemma is when it comes to education for post secondaries. I want to pursue finance, and I know schools like Stern and Wharton are widely perceived as top tier compared to Ivey and Qcomm which fall behind quite a bit. However my issue is that my father makes a respectable amount of money but refuses to pay for an American degree, with him saying he will only pay for an Ontario Undergrad. I can’t apply for sufficient aid to American schools as I have to put my father’s income on the forms, which leaves me in a hole here. Can I still crack into the American finance/consulting field with a Canadian degree, or will that just not cut it? I completely understand my fathers reasoning if I were to stay in Canada, but as I want to permanently work and live in America and only return to Canada once a year, I feel like I’m kind of getting screwed over here. Thoughts? Is it worth it to take up his offer and save on tuition in Ontario or apply to numerous business schools in America with above average stats (I can PM you them) and face large amounts of debt?
