So I don't meen to make a long winded tale here but here goes. My ex and I signed a year lease together starting December 1st 2023, well I guess she had plans. She kicked me out new years eve, I guess I willingly left seeing as my name is on the document as well. That would be fine if she worked more than a shift a week however that's not the case.

I figured I was screwed for the years rent however I was informed I could sign a n9 and remove my name from the lease thereafter leaving the negotiation between my ex landlord and potentially ltb. Good stuff, pay 2 months rent and leave the situation, still hurts but the diffrence between 3600 dollars and 18 grand is substantial.

That said however the landlord is unsure if that's the way this goes as am I now. I guess my question in plane English is can I submit an n9 form without my ex's signature and only suffer paying two months in a place I no longer live? Will she need to sign for this to work? If that's the case is there any other reprive I have here? I was being abused physically but I have no real proof of that and tbh don't want to bite her like that but would that be a path here?

Thanks alot in advance guys stay safe out there and watch who you invite in your life and trust.
