Apologies if this has been discussed, but in the last episode Charles makes a quick comment about a "missing suit bag" from his closet. Seems like this could be a pretty important clue for a few reasons:
1. Why has this not been mentioned before? A murder allegedly happened in your apartment and at the same time that goes missing? Certainly doubles pretty good as a body bag.
2. Jan was in that closet as part of her escape... don't think this should be overlooked. Not sure how it would connect but I don't think its coincidence.
3. Really good way to move a body without arousing suspicion. Nobody would think twice about seeing it hanging on a luggage trolley with other bags; could easily move it to the incinerator or even out of the Arconia (personally I still think the joint in the incinerator is a decoy of some kind). Think this would help remove the need for somebody to be fit enough to move a body.
Just a thought, love reading everybody's theories and clues all pick up on.
I think he didn't say he knew a suit bag was missing for a fact, but rather that he has many suit bags and the killer/cleaner could've easily taken one, implying that a missing suit bag would go unnoticed. That is to say that we don't know for a fact that a suit bag is missing, it's just a part of his theory.
I agree that Jan's time and activities in the apartment may be a Chekhov's gun. She just arrived to say something relatively unimportant/redundant, and was never mentioned again, so there wasn't much of a purpose to that scene in an otherwise tightly edited show. Her change of clothes there might play a role, or maybe Charles putting away the knives when she arrived resulted in a clue getting hidden that'll come up later.
