I've gotten so tired of all the stereotypes hurled at me when I mention I am an only child, so I have resorted to lying about having 2 younger brothers with people I don't plan on being close to. It helps me blend in a little more and avoid unnecessary comments from people I could care less about. Even if others are nosy about my imaginary siblings, I can always invent stories about them or at worst tell them to back off and not ask so many questions. Of course, I don't lie to people who will definitely get to know me better in the future. I just wish to avoid unnecessary trouble by revealing myself as an only child.
Does anyone do the same? Is it considered immoral to lie about having siblings?
