Given the relative lack of only children in the early sixties, would someone born in those times be more likely to struggle with the stigma attached to being an only child? It's so commonplace today that I would imagine today's only children aren't perceived much differently than their counterparts with siblings.
The person I'm asking about does seem to struggle socially (they're very nice but they seem to have trouble knowing what to say at times or they can come off as a little awkward, but not in a bad way at all). I'm not saying all only children or shy or awkward BTW. No offense is intended.
