Last night I went to an event. Someone I met earlier this year had also received an invitation. He is an open relationship (as it seems like everyone is these days) and I knew his partner was algo going to be there.
He's very cool but something felt off and I decided to keep things friendly and he was very cool with that.
Well. For once, I'm glad I listened to my instincts. Turns out he had been invited to this event by a uni friend who is also the friend who invited me. Our stories were featured on insta and I got to see more of his relationship. Turns out we (him, his partner and I) have several friends in common, including a woman a guy I was seeing a couple of years ago was also seeing at the same time. (we became friends when we found out btw, but that's a story for another post).
I'd like to say things like this never happen to me, but they do. Everyone seems to be connected somehow and at some point last night I felt the world was shrinking and I was suffocated by that thought.
Are you able to actually meet 100% new people in your city?
