\ Edited for clarity. People thought I was on here trying to flex. In fact, I didn't explain my question clearly enough. The whole point of this post was to try to understand the drastic difference I noticed between Bumble and Tinder.*
I (51M) arrived in Manhattan late last night. On Bumble I already got 200 likes, matched with 11 women using free version (all attractive, educated, verified profiles, etc), half have written me so far (most matches this morning). Also got super-swipes and Compliments. So in general, a decent start maybe?
Meanwhile on Tinder I only got five or six new likes! And all but two are a bit far away. And one is likely an escort.
What is going on? On Bumble I always get 100-some likes when I travel, if not hundreds, and have had well over a thousand in Paris where I live, plus lots of great dates. I got similar numbers on Badoo when I used it. Why would the difference with Tinder be so radical? Same photo and profile.
Similar experience in NYC here, 1200 likes in a weekend last year. Even more wild is I got more than my girlfriend did on the same trip, she was only about 1000.
We both have gotten banned from tinder before we met, so I can't compare them. Sounds like I'm not missing much!
