New account because I need a fresh start. Not a weirdo, although your opinion may eventually vary, I suppose.

I'm not necessarily ruling out an eventual IRL thing, if the stars align just right, (and covid ever allows things to happen again,) hence the location in the title, but I am primarily looking for an online thing at the moment.

New to doing this as a 'taken' person, so a little bit nervous to take this step, but it is a necessity for my own mental well being right now. As is probably expected, it's complicated, and while the details of why I'm here are perhaps important, they are not really relevant for anyone looking to know why they should reply.

You like the idea of getting to know a not so young Hispanic man who might look good in glasses. There are other traits you might care about, so just ask if you think they are important. I'm meeting you online, so having a way with words will be more important than having a great figure. Besides, if your figure is too good, it might make me think you are way out of my league, as realistically, I'm somewhere in the decent/normal end of the handsome to ugly scale. Battling a dad bod, and losing, so a little softer around the middle than I would prefer, I'd say.

I'm a huge science and sci-fi geek/nerd. If you are willing to put up with me, more power to you. I promise not to rant about the things I really like unless you signal I can. I'm educated enough to read the mood and behave appropriately for the occasion. I'm a domesticated nerd with a few bits of knowledge about a lot of things, and a lot of knowledge about a few specific things.

I expect you to be relatively understanding to the fact that my end of the relationship I'm already in is complicated, but fairly solid, and you are adding a welcome experience to my life without taking anything else away. (Well, maybe relieving some stress or something, but we can discuss that later, after we get to know each other.)

I work full time, even under this pandemic, so I'm not available 24/7. I will make time for you, but I will also need time to take care of other responsibilities.

This became surprisingly long, and I feel like I have still said too little, but that's what responses are for. I prefer DMs, as my reddit client on mobile can't handle reddit chat requests, and I use the official app for other things.
