It's cold, windy, and with all this inclement weather going on, the only sensible solution is the construction of a sturdy and sufficiently cozy pillow fort. Let us ransack the linen closet for surplus sheets and raid the couches for structurally sound cushions.

The rules of said pillow fort may be described thusly...

It shall be a den of meaningful conversation. No superficial banter. Here be a place where we wade into the deeper waters of the psyche: hopes, fears, secrets, desires, heartache, existential loneliness. No topics are off limits, as the pillow fort seeks to maximize emotional security.

Though erected from rectangles of foam and fraying old blankets, the pillow fort is built to endure. No drive by occupants should attempt to penetrate the front door (which is really just a two foot high gap between the legs of a dining room chair). If you're looking for a 24 hour whirlwind bunkermate, this is not the pillow fort for you.

Article III of the Pillow Fort Bill of Rights expressly forbids ghosting. It's just not cool. Perpetrators shall have the ski pole in the center of the pillow fort, the one that keeps the middle from sagging, kicked out of place such that they become entangled in the loftless flat sheet that heretofore had been the roof.

The fire department has set the occupancy limit at 2.

Shenanigans may take place within the pillow fort. After all, who are we kidding here--it is a pillow fort. But only at such time as when female occupant recognizes that the pillow fort was not set up to exclusively house shenaniganistic experiences (see Paragraph 1 re meaningful conversation).

While there is no precise minimum age for pillow fort applications, it is a den for people who have a certain accumulated measure of life experience. Thus, applicants who have yet to reach at least their mid 30s are encouraged to apply elsewhere.

The pillow fort is slightly pretentious in that citizenship is contingent upon a literacy test. Those prone to writing in sentence fragments or excessive abbreviations may struggle to pass through customs.

Oh and customs does also involve a quick pat down. Just kidding.
