I have to wear my heart on my sleeve here and be honest about this. I have visions of getting caught up in something romantic and meaningful with the right person; it's the kind of thing I daydream about while going about the mundane parts of my day (particularly on my first day back at work after 2 weeks off). I want something enrapturing, the type of magnetic connection that keeps our eyes pinned to our phones to see what the other person is saying. I want to marvel at your humour, admire your intelligence, and smile (and giggle) at all the silly things we share with each other. Yes, I know it's a cliche and possibly even naive, but this is what I want.

That being said, I'm also a pragmatic guy (I think, anyway) and I know that sort of thing doesn't happen overnight. We have to build a connection first. To that end, here's a bit about me: I've been married 11 years, I have a young son, and I work full-time in a professional career (with a decent education behind it). I'm introverted by nature, preferring to read or game in my solo free time and escape into different worlds, but I do generally enjoy the social interactions I have; a quiet weekend at home is like a haven of relaxation for me. I'm fairly physically active, with cycling and running being my main activities. I have a tendency to over-analyze things and try to find alternative explanations for various phenomena, ranging from relevant professional issues to inane thoughts that occur to me as I drive down the road.

I'm open to women of all ages and locations, assuming we have chemistry together. I am particularly drawn to those who can write well, though I wouldn't call that a requirement by any means. I'm in the Eastern time zone, if it matters to anyone. I have time to chat during the work day and evenings, though weekends are trickier.
