I won my townâs spelling bee on the word âthermometerâ.
I was once escorted to the movies in the back of a police car - though I was not in trouble. I mightâve been if they knew about the booze I had in my backpack to smuggle in.
I have done a full dance-and-lip-sync routine to âQuit Playing Games with my Heartâ by the Backstreet Boys to a live crowd.
I backstopped my hockey team to the gold medal in a tournament at age 9. I was the goalie and stopped the other teamâs best player on a breakaway in the final game in the third period when we were winning 2-1. I was given the trophy to skate around the rink like a damn movie. None of my family was there to witness what is still my peak athletic achievement.
The greatest handshake of my life was with Sam Neill - Dr. Alan Grant himself.
My first crush, which started around the age of 8 and went on far longer than Iâm willing to admit, was on a girl who I later found out came out as a lesbian.
I once hiked up a mountain in a foreign country completely solo. Nobody knew I was doing it, nobody knew where I was, and I also had no working phone on me. Conditions were poor and the climb arduous. But the view was spectacular!
I was so shy and conflict-averse when I started my Bachelorâs degree that I mislead a gay guy into thinking I was into him. Took far too long to disabuse him of that idea.
I narrowly escaped suffocation when my cousin put the pull-out bed in the couch with me in it (intentionally - I had naturally already done it to me). He couldnât get me back out! After a LONG time he finally extracted me and I breathe to this day.
I have never broken a bone.
