Perhaps this post is taking the form of a new years resolution of sorts. I had connected with someone previously who abruptly vanished. I guess that's just part of standard procedure in an environment like this one, but it doesn't make it sting any less.
Anyhow, here's to dipping one's toe in the water a second time.
As the headline suggests, I feel like I'm looking for two things in equal measure. First, genuine connection, because I admit that I'm feeling rather isolated at the moment. I'm hoping to find a real rapport with someone that doesn't just evaporate in 36 hours. I'm definitely a fan of substantive conversation rather than low effort chit chat. I'm a lover of books and bug ideas and armchair psychoanalysis, and very much looking for someone with similar tendencies.
But I also concede that the real life bedroom is all but dead, and that saddens me to no end. I never realized how much of a steadying ballast physical connection was until I lost it. So my appeal is also going out to people who feel that same need. I'd love to find somebody who had an exploratory tilt to their personality, because I've never had that kind of partner in the past.
So, there's the pitch. I'm not looking for a quicj hookup and I'm not looking for something purely PG. Is it too much to hope for that somebody else might be looking for a similar hybrid of the two? An intimate friendship in every possible meaning of the term?
A few more tidbits about me. Educated, clean cut, professional, physically fit (regular gym goer), very outdoorsy, with a thousand oddball hobbies from baseball to cartography.
If this sounds at all appealing, please drop me a line. Best wishes to all of you.
