I waited a whole week to post this. How exciting!

I’m a 36 year old woman in the midwestern United States. Looking for the same thing we’re all looking for, except are we all looking for the same thing? I’ve been lurking around, making mistakes and burner accounts for several months now. It’s been fun and confusing as hell for a person who thrives in structure (type-A, over analyzer). I have so many questions about this process and the relationships it produces. I find myself reaching out to folks with a genuine interest to connect but also a selfish curiosity about this world. I’d love to hear from anyone in the community willing to share, regardless of gender and/or orientation.

1. Are there really that many bots? What do they want?
2. Is virtual monogamy expected? After all, we are here looking to emotionally cheat on our actual parters.
3. What does it mean to be successful in an OA?
4. Do attractive people always mention it in their posts? If a person does not disclose, do we all assume they’re not conventionally attractive?
5. Why are so many of you in Canada? What’s going on up there?
6. How soon is too soon to get sexual? Can a meaningful connection survive an early dick pic?
7. Are curvy, dad bod and HWP subjective terms? Are there upper and lower limits? What comes after?
8. Why does everyone work in IT? Surely other people use Reddit, the Excel sub could benefit anyone.
9. Why do people request real world meetings in a space called Online Affairs?
10. How does a serial ghoster rehabilitate?
11. What does compartmentalization mean? I know what the word means, what does it mean to this experience?

I have more questions but you’ve probably read enough at this point. Appreciate you sticking in there. As previously stated, I’ve had a few burner accounts. If this tone and abuse of commas feels familiar, yes I am the person you think I am. Thanks for remembering me and I’m sorry it didn’t work out.

P.S. If you’re interested in me: I like music recommendations and live performances of all kinds and movie theaters and asking questions about your job in a non-stalking way and sitting in business class and going to so many museums in a week that I can only focus on depictions of butts by Friday. I’m politically progressive, will not show you what’s beneath my panties, feel all the guilt of a Catholic with no belief in the final reward and a teetotaler.
