Most of us don’t have the ability to compete at the Olympics in actual sports like pole vault or figure skating. But what if the world gathered every four years to see who was the best at mundane, everyday things? In that competition, I would definitely win a gold medal in the “knowing what time it is when you wake up before the alarm and haven’t looked at the clock yet” event. Do you play this game? Every time I wake up I guess what time it is before I look at the clock and I am always within about 10 minutes. It’s a very exciting way to start the day.
I definitely would not win gold in “picking the correct sized container to store leftover food”. I spend so much time looking at the food, looking at our various Tupperware storage devices, trying to pick the right one, and without fail I am off. Often way off. I usually end up putting three pieces of broccoli in something that could hold an entire meal for 6 people.
So, do you want to spend this Tuesday night, and hopefully longer, talking to a future gold medalist? Say hi and tell me what your gold medal winning, or losing, event would be.
