Frigid light falls on frozen lake
Lone steps stir the stillness
Tentative blade tests fragility.
First warming rays of sunrise
Gently teasing
Smile spreading
Like ripening Pink Ladies
Fairy dancing on delicate ice
Joyous laughter tinkling glide.
Cracking
Water seeping
Smile fading
Falling
Sinking
Body breaking
Weakening
Nothing.
