There's a gap. Quite a big one. It didn't used to be there but it's grown and grown. At some point it started consuming parts of me. I tried to close it down as it got bigger. People change though. They sometimes change in different directions. Which is what created this unstoppable expanding gap that I can't fix. Which is why I'm here...again.

Occasionally, I'll chat to someone on here and start to feel normal once again; less incomplete. It's almost cathartic to regain that emotional connection with someone. To have someone that fits seamlessly into your life while you fit seamlessly into theirs. Parts of your personality that you don't see much anymore start to reappear. That spark that's been dulled by the growing hole in your relationship starts to light up again. You know the feeling. It's great.

But it doesn't seem to last. It's hard to maintain a secretive relationship over timezones and distance. It's hard to devote time to someone who lives on a screen in your pocket while raising a family and holding down a career. You can't see each other and read body language or get that instinctive feel for someones mood and emotions when you're not right there with them.

So I'm here again. Hopefully wiser and smart and you are wiser and smarter too. You have a better idea of what you want. What works for you and what doesn't. You know what makes this hard and what you need to do to make this a success. You're not perfect. Neither am I. But you're willing to give it a shot. We both know there is someone out there who fits.
