If you get the joke, we’ll get along just fine.

And if you’re like me, nobody would ever suspect you’d be here. The dad who has the great job, awesome kids, and what appears to be a picture-perfect marriage. They make bad 80s sitcoms about people like us! But underneath it all, there’s a part of us that knows there’s more out there. That we’re built for more connection, more intimacy, being seen for all of us - not just our roles as parents and spouses. Cue the pearl clutching and laugh track!

You: Smart, articulate, kind, warm, sexy. Though maybe you don’t always feel those ways at home. Part Tami Taylor, part Maggie Seaver, part Claire Dunphy… and then some. You miss a partner who makes you laugh, someone you can share long, meaningful conversations with. You miss feeling desired and having your own desires sparked as a result. Whether you’ve done this before or not - you’ve been wanting this awhile and realize it can actually add to your life at home and make you a better wife and mom, as ironic as that might seem.

Me: The busy dad who you bump into all the time. Whether it’s in the pick-up line at school, at Costco buying chicken breasts in bulk (sexy!!), on the sidelines at your kid’s soccer games, or after a couple of drinks at that charity benefit where you found yourself focusing more on me than your husband. Part Jim Halpert, part Michael Bluth, with some Phil Dunphy thrown in for comic relief. I’m not bitter about my life or here to bash my spouse. But I am hoping to find that kindred spirit where I find myself checking my phone constantly, seeking out chances to connect and make something that will last… hopefully much longer than our fond memories of Kirk Cameron’s character on Growing Pains. Yikes.
