Let's get the basics out of the way. I'm married and have 2 kids. Not looking to change my situation. I think I'm obligated to say that? It's in the rules or something.

I've been around these parts for a while, trying and usually failing (but sometimes coming close) to recreating the magic from my first real "online affair." I don't think I'm the only one in that boat.

However, I have met some really cool people, and I'd like to again. Whether they end up becoming a friend, a friend with benefits, or someone who brings all the feelings out. I think trying to force a specific dynamic just leads to failure most of the time.

So how about we treat this as a chance meeting where we can exchange a few words and go our separate ways, or keep on talking and never stop? When the conversation is flowing, it's easy to tell. I'm going to leave a few ideas/ talking points below and you can choose to keep going with one or start with your own.

• I like to read, fiction mostly. Tell me about something good you've read recently. Or maybe we can be nerds and start a book club or something.

• I enjoy an occasional video game. Are you a gamer? What's your console of choice?

• I've played a few sports throughout my life. Ultimate frisbee, soccer, volleyball. Are you into any sports? Either to watch or play.

• I also like to play some chess. Join me online to play a game or two? We could even make it interesting. Strip chess anyone?

Like I said, go with one of those talking points or choose your own! I could be more specific about the type of person I'm looking for, but the whole point of this is to say hi to whoever wants and see if anything happens organically. So whoever you are, say hello!
